Our First Beach Vacation 06/2013

We had a splendid time at the beach.  The girls really rolled with the waves, so to speak.  They adjusted to the new sleeping arrangements, despite the scary ice maker in the next room and slept soundly until the crack of dawn; so much for my delusions of sleeping in every day!

Zoë wanted to "clean up" all of the shells on the beach and Poppi wanted nothing to do with the waves, so she happily played in the sand.  They both adored their Daddy for buying them kites and didn't think their Mommy was too shabby when she made them a "worm cake" just like Max & Ruby's.

It took us a few days to hit our strides, but once we did, we actually relaxed for about two seconds...ahh.  Aunt CeeCee and Uncle Kenny treated the girls like royalty, and they reveled in the extra attention.  All in all, they lived with reckless abandon and enjoyed every minute of it.

Zoë summed it up one morning at breakfast when she said:

 "Mommy, so happy!"

My heart if full.

Make New Friends...06/15/2013

Here are the girls with their new friends, Crabby and Fishy.  We all got up bright and early and prepared ourselves for the adventure that awaited us...a 5 hour car ride to the beach, the likes of which none of us had ever seen before.  The longest they had ever been in the car going one way was about an hour an a half, so this was uncharted territory for all of us.  But, mercifully, we made it through and not one meltdown was had.  They really travel well (5 hours is nothing compared to the 14 hour plane ride from China - beach traffic - Ha, just a walk in the park!)

More pictures to come...

Father's Day at the Beach - 06/16/2013

A special day...not only was it Father's Day, it was a special day spent with Daddy marking the first time the girls saw the ocean and played at the beach.  And even though it was supposed to be a day spent making Daddy feel special, it was, as usual, a day of Daddy tending to his little ladies and making them feel special.
