The girls received birthday cards from Aunt Leslie and Uncle Jerry. I did not tell them they were birthday cards, they figured that out on their own! Zoë can be heard saying "Happy Durthday" and Poppi is singing the song to herself. Sweet.

The other day on our way to dance class (three days after their 2nd birthday) Poppi was looking for yellow buses and I said how many do you see, thinking she would say one, two, and then stop. But, much to my surprise, she kept going--all the way up to ten! I was so excited for her; she is so proud of herself when she accomplishes new things! So, naturally, I had to capture her doing it on film and she did it perfectly again. I can only take credit for the repetition of numbers as we walk up the stairs...the rest was all her!

For the love of books...
I was sitting on the floor with my girls yesterday reading; yes, I was reading Dick and Jane. Dan made me dinner so I told them it was time for me to eat, but I would come back and read some more after eating.
Zoë stood in front of me and put one finger up and said "one time." Meaning she wanted me to read one time before I got up! I could see her trying to formulate that sentence and it was a priceless moment because she remembered that that is what I say to her sometimes when I have to go and do other things..."Ok, I will read the story one time..."
